The mist swallows the light as he searches for her She feels him, an unwanted visitor cloaked in darkness He steals from her soul and claws at her heart Frozen at the sight of him she closes her eyes tight Sitting with clenched fists in the dark, holding nothing Only because she has nothing to hold onto He whispers the lies she has come to believe And she falls victim to his power and control, again After, the stench of death lingers in the night She trembles from the memories of his touch The memories that lay dormant until the darkness comes She wakes with his fingerprints covering her body A guilt ridden reminder that he still owns her
Guilt paints my every surface. It's not something you get rid of, or run from.
It's constant and steady It taints your existance and breathes into every breath.
The guilt devours me and makes me nobody. Who are you? Are you nobody too?
It's a steady weight upon my shoulders. I've done something so terrible I'm terrified to speak.
Remember me.
