What is your thoughts about this? I have so many diferent meanings about this been told me.
A normal life isn't having to have a family or be in a realationship with someone. Neither having a job, a house, car and a pet.
A normal life is to be be able to be 100% whole as person and be respected as human. Be allowed to be the one you are and not told to be anyone else or tried changed into something or someone you are not. That people around you behave naturally and respect you as a human too. That mean you don't have to have material things neither having to be with someone else. Any individual person has the right to be respected.
For us who has been abused, raped and tortured a normal life is like a dream... To build up a life where your boundaries has been torn down and has to be built up again, and be able to trust in people and yet even oneself again is though.
We have been damaged and strugle in life. People talk much of the law system and they need to punish the abusers, but forget so easy that the victims of the abuse is left over to oneself, and when people see them on the street looking odd, behaving strange etc.. Is it really strange after what we been put through how the society expect us to move on so easy after the abuse and get a "normal" life so easy again. No, it isn't easy and it takes time... They think it is so easy to pay compensation for time loss and damage done... Is it fair? Is it suposed to be THAT easy to pay and leave us behind? ... We didn't wanted this torture to happen to us so why do we have to pay the cost for the rest of our life as strangers on the street? (at least I feel like a stranger..)...
Just some thoughts... Janne Helen
