My name is Amanda. I`m 32 years old and a mother of two disabled children. They too were abused so I guess you can make three dots in one if you like. My daughter is 12 and I will call her Elizabeth. My son is 6 and I will call him Jacob.
I was raised by two alcholic parents so it`s not surprising that I should find men of the same calibre. With a lifetime of neglect and abuse to share I`ve decided to include in my story only the most recent.
Depression grabbed by soul so intensly that on May 31st, 2007 I attempted to hang myself. This was a result of the repeated rapes and stalking from my ex boyfriend during my marriage to a new partner. This new partner handled his hurt and anger by blaming , name calling and physical abuse toward me and my children.
The attempted suicide was meant to end my life and the intense pain inside but instead it was a new beginning. Not to say that trying to commit suicide was the answer but it was the cry for help that was finally heard. I`m now separated from my husband. My ex is a registered sex offender who can no longer see us and I`m receiving the therapy and supports I needed to prevent any further abuse.
I will never forget the police officers who saved me and the compassion in their voices. I`d like to thank the police officers for saving my life and the artist for remembering it!
God Bless You
