I decided I'd rather have my first entry be a positive and empowering one...in 1989, the infancy of my healing from childhood sexual abuse, I started an event called the Tenderness Tour...I traveled for 41 days, 1086 miles in my wheelchair raising funds for Prevent Child Abuse Indiana. I'm an adult with spina bifida, a sexual abuse survivor...and since that first tour I've traveled over 3,000 miles by wheelchair. This year, on October 8, I'll be offering my 20th annual event and, sadly, my final event as my health is being challenged to handle the rigors of touring and it's harder and harder to put together a solid support team for such events. I'll travel from Terre Haute to Richmond in Indiana. It's hard to imagine life without the Tenderness Tour...it has been such a vital part of my own healing. I'm also a part time film critic...and I'll be transitioning my efforts over into the arts. I look forward to getting to know some of you!
